There is nothing better than a Sunday afternoon in the kitchen with someone you love
making cookies. It doesn't happen very often.
For those of you who know me well. I don't cook a lot. My husband is a much better cook than me. He bought the bosh this Christmas (for me, ha ha) I think he's telling
me something!
This is my mothers recipe. These were my favorite cookies growing up.
Oatmeal Scotchies
(we changed the recipe just a bit, used chocolate chips instead of
butterscotch chips, no nuts, or raisins) just the way I like them.
This recipe is huge, it makes a lot of cookies (caution, don't cut it down, it never turns out the same) give them away to a neighbor or relative!
I hope you can spend an afternoon with someone you love making something very delicious!
2 Cups butter
4 Cups Brown Sugar
4 Eggs
4 Teaspoons Vanilla
3 Cups Four
1/2 Cup Wheat Flour
1 Cup Wheat Germ
2 Teaspoons baking soda
2 Teaspoons Salt
4 Cups coconut
4 Cups Oats
2 Cups Nuts (optional)
or 2 Cups butterscotch chips or raisins (we use real chocolate chips)
Enjoy! You will love them

how fun..I made cookies this afternoon but didn't have a helper, maybe that is why mine did not turn out. I will have to try your recipe. Can you freeze it for later use?
Oatmeal scotchies were a favorite of mine too. What a fun day!
Barb,
I haven't tried freezing them, but I'm sure you could.
