The Terrible Twos Aren't So Bad!

I've decided that being a mother is a lot of work. It's not like I haven't known this for the past sixteen years but those of you with teenagers know the terrible twos aren't so terrible when you hit the mean teens! Laughing one minute and crying the next (that would be me, not the teen). I'm sure there are a lot of you out there that can relate.... Lots of praying and therapy!

On a good note...... I'm about ready to release my fall patterns!

So what's new with you? Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

I have four grown children and 7 little grandchildren... I can relate! I love my little grandkids, but boy, does it bring back a flood of memories for me when our kids talk about some of the challenges of raising a two year old. And then I think to myself, It never really goes away. I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything, but in some ways I feel bad for my kids because I know the emotional roller coasters they themselves are going to experience... your heart just breaks right along with your kids when they hurt. But the good news is, you share in all of their joys as well! Trudy

Hang in there! There were a few times when I decided if anyone gets to runaway, it's me. It is tough to know what to do sometimes. Even after they have left home.

Hey Amy nice to see you backin BLOG-LAND. I have to tell the funniest thing. A couple of weeks ago we were in Mt.View, Wyoming at a little QUILT shop. And their was your stuff right as we walked in.. Funniest thing was Tanner noticed it first.. He was jumping up and down freaking out. The lady behind the counter thought he was crazy.. But he stood his ground and said it is NOT nice to steal, How did you get My Mom's friends stuff in your shop. The sweet lady got a good laugh. But it was like knowing a MOVIE STAR for my kids. Now they tell everybody we know to buy "AMY's" material cuz we know her...
BTW I agree 110% with the laughing/crying teenagers' mom thing...I know I knwo we will miss it when it is gone, But come on the least they could do is throw a bone or something:O) to let us know they love us. I have realized a scream and a FULL door slam is a GESS MOM I LOVE YOU AND YOU ALWAYS ARE THINKING OF ME!!! No scream and a door slam is Mom you are in BIG TROUBLE.. good luck:O]

We survived 3 of our 4 so far.. they all turned out to be wonderful adults (thank goodness) We always talked to them completely honestly, and as though they were adults. I let them know that highschool years are only just a few years, and then they will be doing their own thing, and those other kids will be off doing their own thing too. I don't even know any of the kids I went to high school with anymore. Hang in there just that much longer, and they will be okay because family is ALWAYS there for them.

I have a 19 yr old and a 16 yr old both girls. I have decided that when I take a deep breath and try and calm down, they realize they have just pushed me to far. I some times fake a deep breath just so they will stop and think.
My mantra is "what is important? what am I fighting for?"
