Exciting News!

It wasn't very nice of me not to tell yesterday. I've never been so excited about a salvage line in my life. I have a contract with Henry Glass to design fabric. Well it's pretty well designed just a few finishing touches and it will be ready for print. I'm hoping by fall which means it will be available in stores November or December. We are all crossing our fingers. It's quite a process. I met with my design coordinator she's a kick! I will give you all a taste as soon as I can. Happy creating!

Back From Market! Exciting News!

We are back! Market was in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania this year. It was amazing. My first market as a vendor (pattern designer) Usually I'm buying for my shop. What a change. I have a much greater appreciation for those who create and market their creations. It's intense and a bit daunting! This is our booth. Kati Cupcake Pattern Co. This is Melda! My very good friend and quilt shop buddy.

Again, Our booth!

Our both yet again!

My good friends Bonnie Olaveson, Camille Roskelly..... Behind them their new line Simple Abundance!
Good work ladies!

This is Heather and her son Doug. Heather owns the Quilt Barn in Kimberly, Idaho. I haven't been to her shop yet, but I've heard tons of great stuff about it.

Doug was such a trooper. I asked him if he was having a good time and he just looked at me. I told him my son Austin who is the same age, has been begging me to go to market. He wrote Austin a message.

This is not fun, don't come

13 year old from Idaho

Doug

Austin Laughed when he read it! I'm not sure it changed his mind!

He still thinks he wants to go, just not as bad.. what ever that means.

Meet Patty Young! Designer for Michael Miller. Love her new line Summer Sioree. Not sure when it's available, go check out her blog. http://http://www.modkidboutique.blogspot.com/

Patty Young again.....

Patty Young again

and again!

Melda and I got invited to go on a dinner cruise from Moda. It was alot of fun. Thanks Moda!

Our boat was the last one to leave......

This was the inside.

PNC Field taken from the boat. The view of the city was just fantastic.

Melda and I on the boat up on the deck, just chillin.

The city was gorgeous!

This was at the convention center. The water fall follows the path down to the dock. It was so beautiful!

Barbara Jones from Quilt Soup wasn't at market, but her new book and fabric was! It was everywhere and very fun! It's bubble gum basics by Henry Glass

My sister Jen came down from Philly to see me while I was at the show. I miss you Jen. Thanks for coming!

We all know Heather from Anka's Treasures! Her booth was sweet!

Heather and I!

She is such an amazing designer! I love her fabric and books!

So the whole trip Melda kept saying. "We're walking I'm not going to waste my virgin cab ride with you". I'm saving it for Jo (her husband). It's kinda funny, melda has lived all over the world literally. Well she waisted it on me otherwise we would have missed the plane. We left the hotel at 2:00 am our time to get to the airport. Sorry Joe!

Enjoying the ride.

Trying to keep my eyes open.

This is Melda.....She is so fun. She was rockin our booth!
Watch for our winner of the give-a-way!
I forgot to mention the exciting news. I'll tell you tomorrow!

Auction & Give-a-way....Great Cause!

This is Sawyer! He's almost 21 months old and has his very own blog, what a lucky little guy! His brother will be jealous when he turns about 10 or 12. He's so cute! My very good friend Tiffany has teamed up with http://petuniapicklebottom.com/ to raise money for Shriner's to help beautiful children like her son Sawyer. I am very excited about this cause and hope that you will go check out Tiffany's blog tiny seamstress for more information. You can check out the gorgeous bag being auctioned off and the info about the give-a-way at no matter how tall or tiny seamstress. I've decided to donate a finished quilt of my choice to the give-a-way Tiffany is doing. For anyone donating $10.00 or more will get one entry for each $10.00 donated. Thank you for caring & spread the news! Oh I will post the quilt in a couple of days! So keep watching......

Switch-A-Roo

So, we've done a little spring cleaning and switching things around in the shoppe. I've decided I'm getting to old for this ha..... ha...... I'm not as young as I used to be for sure! When I was done I lathered my whole body with icy hot....kind of weird I know but I think it did help a little.

I am really happy with how the shop looks and thought you might like to see some pics of our changes. Kati Cupcake.....I am so excited to be going to market with Kati Cupcake. Maywood studio will be showcasing a couple of our quilts, which is really exciting.

The pink and brown fabric above is a Maywood Studio Line by Bate and Taylor called Back Porch Bouquet! It is just flying off the shelves! It is done in Vintage baby by Kati Cupcake(the quilt on the right) and the quilt on the left is Argyle with Style by Bate and Taylor. We currently have kits available on our website http://www.blogger.com/www.katicupcake.com and in the shoppe.

The quilt on the left is Baby dot-to-dot, a Cotton Way by Bonnie Olaveson. It is just the sweetest baby quilt for those girly girls. Kits are available on line and in the shoppe. The quilt on the right is Hopscotch by Kati Cupcake. Kit are also available on line and in the shop.

The large quilt is by Quilt Soup by Barbara Jones, Called Porch Pots, it's done in Amy Butler fabrics. The Quilt on the right is in Allison Jane Smiths newest book called Baby Love. It's a darling book. It even has cute boy quilts which are so hard to find. The runner clear to the right is Domestic Deva by Thimble Blossoms, Camille Roskelley. You will love this pattern! It really is darling!

This is our cutting table. I just love this table. I found it at an antique store. It was an old court house table. I had it refinished. I'm in love. I've had it a few years and still I'm in love. It measures 4" x 10" It's huge!

Indygo Junctions pattern called Sister Smocks is sewn in Candy Kisses. We slip this one off the display for Regan every once in a while. Bellow is Once Upon A Time by Bananafana, Jessica Goldman. It's made with Lakehouse fabrics! I love Lakehouse.

The Large quilt is Wilde Thing by Thimble Blossoms, Camille Roskelley! Made with Charisma.

Hope you liked our tour. We just got Bubble Gum Basics by Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup. I love her designs and fabric. You'll have to come in to see it (I forgot to take a picture) or go take a look on our websitehttp://www.katicupcake.com/

Don't forget about our give-a-way! I will announce the winner May 20th. I know that's a long time away! Tell all your friends. You can comment on any post from now until May 18th.

Quilt Market

I'm really going to market.. I bought my plane ticket. Melda and I still don't have a place to stay. We may be sleeping in the bathroom. Just Kidding. This will be Meldas first Market experience ever and my first market as a vendor/designer. I'm getting so excited. If you don't know who Melda Dean is you need to come into the shop and meet her. I swear most of my customers would stop coming in if Melda weren't here. We love her, including me!

To celebrate! I've decided to do a give-a-way. A surprise from Market. Fabric, yes!..... that no one else will have yet, because it won't be out yet. Maybe a fat quarter bundle or a jelly roll layer cake bundle or something fun. I promise. Make a comment from now until I return May 18th and get you name entered into a drawing . Add me to your blog and get 5 drawing entries. Have someone comment and say you sent them and get 2 added entries. This will be a drawing. So the more you enter the better your chances.

Good luck and have fun!

Amy
