I hope you all have had a fabulous and safe New Years Eve Celebration! We went out and wished my baby brother a happy 30th birthday last night, then settled in at home. My 15 year old woke me up at 5 minutes after twelve with a cell phone call to open the door and 5 boys played xbox until around 5 am. Teenagers! I'm still getting acclimated to being a mother of a teenage boy!
I've been pondering my New Year resolutions......it's almost a 100% failure rate for me. So do I pick something that I know I can't do and try it for a few days, or just go on trying to do my best at most things and only achieving greatness in one or two things. I've been trying to quit drinking Dr. Pepper all year! I quit for a week or two and then I'm back to, I'll just have one when I'm stressed syndrome! Well you probably know the drill from there. I'm hooked for a couple weeks and then try again. This year I think I'm going to try and not worry what people think and be happy with who I am. Focus on being a better mother and let the rest fall where it falls. So what about you? What are your New Year resolutions?
Hope you all have a wonder, safe and memorable 2011!

Well, I love my Diet Dr. Pepper, but I have started trying to drink... are you ready.. more water.. YUCK.. yep not a big fan of it, but I know it is good for me, so I try to drink more water, which in turn cuts down on the Diet Dr. Pepper, but hey, I don't drink alcohol, I don't smoke... so I can cross those off my resolution list. :) Now cussing.. well I could work on that one..
I don't set resolutions bz it just sets me up for failure. I do set goals, however. They seem more attainable to me. I have the same problem with Coke. I quit and then in the heat of the summer when I need an energy jolt I get back on it. I seem to find I drink it at work on my computer the most. On my days off I can forget about having one. Sigh...if I could only quit work for good then I think I could give it up for good, lol! I just set goals to try to make myself a better person. They may be small goals but there are a few big ones too. I did pretty well last year doing it this way. I have an actual list hidden on my computer that I pull up now and again to keep me focused on what I want to obtain. Hope this gives you some ideas for yourself! Hope we both have a happy new year!

I know exactly what you are talking about. I never do well with resolutions so I stopped making them a couple of years ago. I instantly felt better. LOL
I gave up on resolutions a LONG time ago! Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year's to you to Amy. I don't make resolutions because I know I won't stick at them. I look forward to new patterns from you this year. There are some in the works I hope.
